It takes about 8 minutes for the brain to tell your stomach that the food you have eaten will suffice. So, take it slowly. Chewing on your food also gives you the kind of satisfaction that aids in reducing food intake. Starting off with a salad or a low fat soup is another great way to cut your food intake. Soups can be very beneficial if they are home made and thick. In addition to giving you lots of vital nutrients, they will also take away the sharp pangs of hunger that urge you to eat more than you actually want.

Snacking in between meals is a good idea. Have a small salad bowl or a low fat cracker plate by your side. It is OK to eat 6 times a day provided your overall intake is lesser than before. What’s the Deal With Weight Loss Pills?

Dieting is hard, and it’s not uncommon for people to turn to weight loss pills to give them an added boost when trying to shed unwanted pounds. It’s hard, though, to know which pills, drugs, and supplements will really work for you. Most people, when thinking about weight loss drugs, first look in the pharmacy department of their local supermarket. If you use prescription weight loss pills in ways your doctor did not advise — overdosing, for instance — you may become sick because you aren’t getting proper nutrition, and this can even cause you to put on more weight.

If you don’t want to speak to a doctor about weight loss, you can also talk to a pharmacist for advice on which OTC products and weight loss supplements are most likely to help you and least likely to cause harm. Squats And Lunges - The King And Queen Of All Exercise Routines

If you’ve been working out for months and seen very little change in the shape of your body, chances are you’re either not doing resistance work at all, which is a whole article in itself, or you’re not doing the right exercises.

Two of the biggest ‘result-giving’ exercises known to man or woman are the squat and the lunge. These two exercises hit the whole hip and leg structure, as well as every other muscle in your lower body. Why do you feel so breathless after a set of either one? Because they are hard and they work! For the quickest results to reshape and define your buttocks and legs, there really are very few exercises that even come close.

Starting with your own bodyweight is more than enough to see physical change initially. There are more people in gyms doing squats and lunges incorrectly than doing them the right way, so make sure that you ask for some technique advice from the instructors in your gym, and try to choose one that knows what he or she is talking about.

Key points to remember are:

Squats: Sit back from the hips, not the knees. Think about pushing your bum back behind you, and keeping your chest lifted as you lower down. Standing facing close to a wall will force you to maintain a more upright posture and stop you from pushing forward with the knees.

Lunges: As a beginner, use a support to get yourself into place, such as a wall, a door or a rail. Step forward into a split stance position, both knees slightly bent, your front foot flat on the floor and your rear heel lifted. Keeping your torso upright, slowly lower down, by bending both knees and tightening your bum. ONLY lower down as far as you can, while keeping your torso upright.

Once you have the basic technique in place, there’s no stopping you, especially with lunges, which can be performed at a whole variety of angles and depths, to hit every single muscle in and around your hips.

Squats and lunges are the staple of any exercise program worth its salt, provided that they are correctly performed and regularly practiced. These 2 exercises will build you ‘buns of steel’ in the shortest possible time!

5 Ways to Get Fit, Lose Weight, and Feel Better Fast

1. Do some form of exercise at least 5 days per week.

Cut out as much fried foods, fatty meats, butter, margarine, and high-fat packaged foods as possible.

3. Eat a big, healthy breakfast.

Don’t make the mistake of starting your day with little or no breakfast. People who do that may think they’re “cutting calories” but, in reality, they’re setting themselves up for failure. Avoid energy crashes and junk-food binges by eating a big, healthy, fiber- and protein-rich breakfast. Protein shakes are a great option, as are eggs (preferably organic), whole-wheat toast with peanut butter and fruit, sugar-free oatmeal, and high-fiber, low-sugar cereal with low-fat milk.

4. Drink only pure water and green tea.

In order to look and feel your best, you need to stay hydrated. But most drinks simply aren’t very health. Soda has too much sugar and chemicals. Coffee has too much caffeine. Fruit juice has too much fructose (a simple sugar). Sports and energy drinks usually have tons of calories and/or artificial colors and flavors. If you want to lose weight and boost your energy, stick to pure water and hot or iced green tea, the only two beverages recommended by most natural health experts.

5. Eat veggies with every meal.

Eating fresh vegetables each and every day is an important step to achieving optimal health and fitness. Simply put, humans are designed to eat a big pile of vegetables on a daily basis, especially the “green leafy” variety. Most of your meals should be based around raw or lightly steamed veggies. They’re full of the vitamins, minerals, and trace elements your body needs to function properly.
